The Wild of Words: Day 76/100

Some comedians don’t particularly strike you as funny at first but slowly, over time, their persona becomes so well-developed and cohesive that it undergirds everything that they say in a delightful way.

What am I on about? Rob Brydon, that’s who. Here is an excerpt from the Guardian’s Q&A with him.

Have you ever said ‘I love you’ and not meant it?
Of course not, darling.

Which living person do you most despise, and why?
Despise is such a negative word, so I try not to allow such thoughts. Having said that, there are people I hate and would like to see dead.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?
To the time of cavemen, if only for the sense of intellectual superiority.

And here he is on the comedy panel show, QI, explaining exactly what is so deadly about fire.
