In Namibia, the sky is green

Did you know that in Namibia, there is no word for blue? Their language has segmented the spectrum in a slightly different way and so that blue is a part of green.

You can’t get more blue than an Italian

Conversely, in Italy there are two distinct words for the blues that us English would most likely refer to as ‘light blue’ and ‘dark blue’.

    I heard a radio interview with a social anthropologist who had lived with an Amazon tribe. They had no words for left and right. When they gave directions, or needed any spacial descriptions, they used upriver and downriver.
